This has been one of the most impactful years in Changeist’s history. We have welcomed some of the most thoughtful, creative, and committed young people into our community. Together, they have explored important issues, built meaningful relationships, and are now launching projects designed to make their communities better. It is an honor to witness their growth, leadership, and courage.

Today we ask for your support in making this program possible.

About a year ago, Changeist made the decision to walk away from millions in federal funding. Due to changes in federal priorities and executive orders, we faced the possibility of having to compromise our values and the way we serve young people. We were not willing to do that.

We believe every young person deserves a space where they can explore who they are, understand the issues affecting their communities, and build the confidence to create change.

Over the past year, we have restructured our organization and worked tirelessly to build new sources of support so that Changeist can remain free and accessible to every young person, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

The reality is that it costs approximately $1,000 per student each year to provide this experience. This includes transportation, program supplies, materials, leadership training, site visits, guest speakers, and space rentals. (Does not include staff costs.)
